Mungkin hampir semua orang di dunia sudah pernah mendengarkan lagu "Open Happiness" yang dibawakan oleh Cee-Lo Green, Patrick Stump dari Fall Out Boy, Brendon Urie dari Panic! at the Disco, Travie McCoy dari Gym Class Heroes dan Janelle Monae. Atau versi Indonesianya, "Buka Semangat Baru" yang dinyanyikan oleh Ello, Ipang, Barry dari Saint Loco, dan penyanyi Filipina, Lala. Lagu itu merupakan strategi pemasaran dari perusahaan Coca-Cola itu sendiri. Tapi bagi saya, dan teman-teman saya, Open Happiness merupakan suatu gabungan antara musik dan kehidupan yang dirasakan oleh orang-orang, gabungan ini menciptakan kebahagiaan sendiri. Open Happiness juga menjadi lagu yang membawa masyarakat dunia menjadi satu, contohnya, menyanyikan lagu ini bersama adalah kegiatan yang saya lakukan bersama teman-teman beberapa bulan yang lalu, Open Happiness menjadi theme song hidup saya untuk beberapa waktu, dan menjadi memori yang indah di masa mendatang. Open Happiness merupakan satu perumpaan bagaimana sebuah brand minuman dapat berpengaruh ke kaum remaja lewat musik...

Coca Cola dan Musik. Kalau didengar dan dialami sih, dua hal ini bersangkutan banget. Faktanya, 2 hari yang lalu, saya sedang latihan band, di suatu studio musk di Jakarta Selatan, band saya dan saya berlatih selama satu jam dan memainkan 3 lagu, tiba-tiba drummer band saya keluar dari studio lalu kembali membawa sebotol Coca-Cola, dan saat itu juga, I get the vibes of freshness. Coca Cola dan Musik memiliki banyak persamaan, dua hal ini adalah dua hal yang sangat impresif menurut saya dan saya bahagia memiliki keduanya sebagai bagian dari kehidupan saya.

Sejak dulu, saya sangat menyukai packaging dari minuman Coca-Cola ini, packaging-nya sangat menunjukkan kesegaran dan kreatifitas, dengan desain yang berubah-ubah, menunjukkan bahwa Coca-Cola adalah produk yang progresif. Ini bisa diselaraskan bersama musik, yang seiring waktu, selalu berubah, musik menunjukkan ke modern-an suatu masa. Contohnya, iklan yang dibuat oleh para video makers dari Belanda adalah sebuah lambang penyatuan antara musik, video, dan Coca-Cola, the video shows how colourful life is with Coca-Cola.

Coca-Cola dan musik adalah dua hal yang berkembang, mereka seperti simbol kemajuan jaman. Musik adalah 70% hidup saya, berarti musik sangat penting bagi hidup saya, musik menemani di segala suasana hati, menyegarkan kembali hidup yang terkadang jatuh. Musik adalah bahasa universal, semua orang, meskipun terpisah secara bahasa, suku, etnis, dan ragam budaya tetap bisa berkomunikasi lewat musik yang seringkali berbicara mengenai kehidupan dan tragedi kehidupan yang setiap hari kita alami. Kalimat terakhir juga merupakan definisi dari Coca-Cola, kemiripan yang dimiliki musik dan Coca-Cola terlihat jelas dari kehidupan masyarakat dunia. Coca-Cola dan musik bersatu untuk menyatukan masyarakat di muka bumi :)

Today, a question came up in my head, a question that might change my mind forever, or the opposite.
“What if the world needs you to be nice but being nice is equal to not being who you are".

I currently compare my life as a series of collisions. The hard times in my teenager’s life is in its early climax, and me, as a human being is trying to cope with them.
Answers were also came up to me not long after the big question come up.
Life is chemistry. It needs positivity and negativity in order to make it balance. I wholly believe in that.
So, whether you are in an extreme happiness, or in a deep sadness just remember it’s a part of your life.
Just believe, when you feel like the world turns its back on you, there’s someone you’ve got to take the pain away.
Make friends. Friends keep you awake when you decide to sleep your problems away.
Appreciate life. It’s a gift.
Mend hearts, you got to be someone in your life.

Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival: Day 1

Tidak terasa sudah tujuh hari sejak pagelaran musik jazz internasional, The 7th Annual Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival berlangsung. Minggu ini sangatlah menyibukkan bagi saya pribadi, maklum, sebagai anak SMA. Hari ini saya menyempatkan untuk berbagi cerita-cerita yang terjadi di hari pertama Java Jazz 2011. Mudah-mudahan post ini menjadi post yang informatif, menghibur, mengasyikkan, dan mengisi waktu luang pembaca.

Waktu itu tanggal 5 Maret 2011, saya izin pulang sekolah tanpa surat kepada guru guru, pada awalnya sih cuma mau mengantar adik dan kakak untuk menonton Java Jazz 2011 hari pertama. Dijalan pulang, kakak saya menyetel lagu-lagu dari Sondre Lerche, kontan saya jatuh cinta kepada lagu-lagunya, dan kebetulan ia tampil malam it, saya dilanda dilemma saat itu, tetapi akhirnya saya memilih untuk menonton Java Jazz 2011 Day 1. Selain Sondre Lerche, ada Santana Corinne Bailey Rae, dan artis-artis lainnya yang mendukung saya untuk lebih yakin menonton Java Jazz 2011 hari itu. Langsunglah saya mencari tiket via twitter dan kaskus, dan akhirnya saya mendapatkan penjual yang sepertinya terpercaya dan lebih murah ;)

2 jam perjalanan dari rumah saya menuju venue Java Jazz 2011.

Pada jam 7 malam, saya baru memasuki JIExpo karena menunggu tiket dari sang penjual untuk datang, alhasil, saya melewatkan performance Suddenly September di Masima Stage, dan hanya mendengar musiknya saja dari luar, terdengar mereka membawakan lagu 'Forget You' dari Cee-Lo Green. Pada awalnya saya menghadiri Java Jazz 2011 dengan keluarga, namun terpisah karena saya belum dapat tiket mendadak, ayah saya menghibahkan tiket Special Show untuk Santana, karena jadwal yang bertabrakan, saya batal menonton Sondre Lerche. Mengingat pembatalan menonton Sondre Lerche, saya masuk ke Hall A3, disana ada penyanyi Indonesia yang albumnya diproduseri oleh personil Incognito, ya, dia Dira J. Sugandi, pada saat saya masuk, penampilan Dira sudah hampir selesai, saya hanya melihat sesi solo gitar oleh gitarisnya dan satu lagu dari album debut Dira, 'Bring It On'. Suaranya yang menggelegar sukses membuat permulaan Java Jazz 2011 Day 1 yang baik.

Saya bertemu teman kakak saya di Hall A3, beberapa saat setelah penampilan Dira Sugandi, announcer memberitahukan bahwa di panggung sebelah ada penampilan dari Glenn Fredly, otomatis semua penonton Dira Sugandi menetap di Hall A3. Saat itu tepat pukul jam 8 malam dan Glenn Fredly memakai baju berwarna merah untuk penampilannya hari itu, 'Happy Sunday' pun menjadi lagu pembuka, dengan aransemen yang berbeda, Glenn Fredly mendapat respon baik dari penonton. Tapi respon itu tidak didapatkan dari saya, dikarenakan betapa penuhnya Hall A3, saya memilih untuk keluar dari Hall A3 dan meladeni perut saya yang lapar.

Keluar dari Hall A3, saya melihat tenda besar berisi stand-stand restoran, saya pun langsung menuju ke salah satu stand roti sosis disana, ketika hendak memesan, si penjual menanyakan tentang sebuah kartu isi ulang, saya bingung, dan ternyata pembayaran harus dilakukan melalui stand BNI yang menyediakan kartu isi ulang untuk membeli makanan dan memorabilia. Lalu saya mendatangi stand BNI tersebut, respon yang saya beri adalah berjalan berlawanan arah dengan stand tersebut karena antrian sangat panjang, lalu saya berjalan lagi mengitari venue. Untuk sekedar mengganjal perut, saya melihat sebuah gerobak es krim Magnum, saya tergoda dan langsung membelinya. Sambil menikmati es krim, saya menonton penampilan musik perkusi yang dimainkan dengan tong sampah di depan Dji Sam Soe Lounge, penampilannya sangat energik dan mengasyikkan. Di depan Dji Sam Soe Lounge, ada Axis Lounge yang besar dan megah serta eye-catchy dan bersinar, ketika melewati Axis Lounge, saya bertemu teman saya yang sedang mengisi ulang pulsa Axis, lalu kami bertiga pergi ke Hall D1. Pada saat memasuki Hall D1, saya mendengarkan nada-nada sebuah lagu yang famliar tapi saya lupa itu lagu apa, lalu saya melihat ke panggung dan berdirilah seorang Marcell dan Pandji Pragiwaksono, mereka sedang membawakan lagu 'Lagu Melayu'! yang dikarang oleh Pandji Pragiwaksono, penampilan mereka sangat sederhana namun enak untuk didengar dengan iringan alat-alat musik tradisional, setelah lagu selesai, saya kembali keluar untuk mencari makanan dan minuman.

Akhirnya saya cukup bersabar untuk mengantri isi ulang kartu BNI Prepaid, di waktu yang sama, staff-staff food area mengabarkan bahwa transaksi cash sudah dapat dilakukan, pelanggan langsung menyerbu stand-stand makanan karena cenderung lebih mudah untuk membayar cash. Akhirnya saya makan Sushi Groove dan minum Tebs. Saya kemudian pergi ke Nokia Hall, disana, band Kilimanjaro sedang tampil, band asal Vermont, Amerika Serikat itu membawa suasana sejuk di Nokia Hall, para penonton duduk menontonnya, tak lama kemudian saya pindah ke Hall A1, disana ada penyanyi legendaris Vina Panduwinata. Suasana di Hall A1 sangat ramai, saya meninggalkan teman saya di Hall A1 karena jam sudah menunjukkan pukul 9 dan sudah waktunya untuk Special Show: Santana. Saya agak berlari menuju D2 Axis Hall, penonton sudah berbondong-bondong menuju hall tersebut membawa tiket Special Show. Say pun ikut mengantri, ketika masuk kedalam D2 Axis Hall, announcer sudah mengumumkan bahwa Santana akan tampil, saya pun langsung mencari tempat dan saya mendapatkan tempat di belakang sebelah kiri. Lagu 'Maria Maria' dibawakan oleh Santana dan band-nya untuk lagu pembuka, penonton mulai berdansa ala Spanyol. Santana memakai gitar akustik elektrik di lagu pertama dan memakai topi khasnya. Lagu lagu seperti 'Foo Foo', 'Jingo', 'Smooth, dan 'Corazon Espinado' dimainkan pada malam itu. Lalu untuk encore, Santana menyiapkan 'Into The Night' dan 'Love, Peace, & Happiness'. Kata-kata yang terngiang pada malam itu adalah "Light and love" yang diesbutkan oleh Carlos Santana mendeskripsikan para penonton malam itu. Santana membuat malam yang indah!

Selesai pada jam 11 malam, saya keluar dari D2 Axis Hall dan bertemu dengan teman saya dan menanyakan, "Bagaimana Sondre Lerche", dan respons mereka sangatlah ekstatik, mereka menyukainya, saya sedikit menyesal. Bersama keluarga dan teman-teman, saya menuju kembali ke D2 Axis Hall untuk Corinne Bailey Rae! Penampilan pada hari itu yang saya tunggu-tunggu, pada pukul 00.15 dini hari, Corinne masuk keatas panggung dan menyapa para penonton, dengan percakapan massal sebagai pembuka, Corinne Bailey Rae melanjutkan penampilannya malam itu dengan lagu pertama, 'Are You Here', dari album keduanya, 'The Sea'. Lagu lagu seperti 'Feels Like The First Time, 'Closer', dan 'The Blackest Lily'. Dua lagu hits Corinne, 'Like A Star' dan 'Put Your Records On' dimainkan berturut-turut dan ribuan penonton pun menyanyi. Penampilan Corinne ditutup dengan lagu 'Breathless'.

Lelah, saya keluar dari D2 Axis Hall sendirian, lalu bertemu dengan orangtua di depan Hall D1. Pada jam 1.30, saya meninggalkan venue dan pulang. Java Jazz hari pertama adalah hari yang bisa dibilang sangat sibuk namun terbayar dengan venue yang luas, penonton yang ramai, set up design yang baik, dan tentu performers yang spektakuler. This is what we called as improvements! Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2011 benar-benar mengharumkan nama Indonesia. Keep up the good work!

It's The 7th Annual Axis Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival!

Pagelaran musik Jazz terbesar di dunia kembali lagi di kota kita tercinta, Jakarta.
Digelar pada tanggal 4, 5, 5 maret 2011, Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, atau singkatnya JJF mengundang ketertarikan berbagai kalangan manusia di Indonesia.

Pada dasarnya, pagelaran musik mendatangkan banyak sekali penggemar, penikmat, pengkritik, peng-ramai, dan peng-peng lainnya. Di kesempatan kali ini, penggemar mendapatkan satu ruangan khusus di pembahasan halaman Blog saya yang sederhana nan enak dilihat.

Saya sendiri mengaku baru menghadiri JJF sejak tahun 2008, dimana ada D'Sound, Maysa Leak, Ray Parker Jr. dan lain-lain. Di tahun berikutnya, JJF 2009, adalah salah satu festival musik yang saya sukai, disana ada Jason Mraz, Roy Ayers (artis jazz pemain vibraphone yang saya baru ketahui setelah saya menghadiri JJF 2009, karena sejujurnya saya bukan penggemar Jazz tulen), Swing Out Sister, Matt Bianco, Brian McKnight, Maliq & D'Essentials (yang mendapatkan penghargaan performance terbaik di JJF 2009 versi saya sendiri), dan lain-lain. Di tahun 2009, saya menonton tiga hari berturut-turut dan itu sangat mengesankan. Di tahun 2010, sejujurnya saya kurang menikmati karena ada perpindahan venue yang sangat disayangkan (maklum, saya pikir Jakarta Convention Center sudah sangat nyaman), alhasil, saya hanya menonton JJF 2010 di hari pertama, ditemani John Legend, RAN, Toni Braxton, The Manhattan Transfer, /rif, dan artis-artis lainnya. Dan...sejauh ini saya sangat bangga karena JJF telah meramaikan scene musik di Indonesia.

Penggemar, penggemar, penggemar.
Kalangan manusia ini tidak ada habisnya, dimana ada artis, disitu ada penggemar (tidak juga sih, saya sebagai anak band tidak mempunyai penggemar, maksudnya, yang benar-benar penggemar). Saya sendiri baru berumur 15 tahun dan bagi saya musik adalah hal terindah yang pernah terjadi dalam hidup saya sejauh ini, dan kecintaan itu kembali lagi pada pengarang, pengaransemen, perancang, produser, penerbit sebuah musik dalam bentuk lagu, album, atau apapun yang berkaitan dengan musik. Maka dari itu penggemar ada. Di JJF tahun ini, ada dua artis yang secara spesial ingin saya temui, pertama ada Corrine Bailey Rae, lagu Put Your Records On menarik perhatian saya pada tahun albumnya dirilis, lalu saya membaca artikel tentang dia dan kematian suaminya yang menurut saya inspiratif bagaimana dia bisa bangkit dari kesedihannya lalu menuju studio untuk membuat albumnya yang terbatu yang baru dirilis bertajuk The Sea.

Jadi, menonton Corinne Bailey Rae memainkan lagu lagunya di JJF tahun ini memungkinkan untuk menjadi alasan kita untuk menyebut 2011 sebagai tahun yang mengesankan. Tinggal beberapa hari menuju Axis Presents 7th Annual Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2011, kita sambut dengan meriah, demi kemajuan musik Indonesia, demi keberadaan dan partisipasi kita dalam musik dunia. Bring The World To Indonesia!

Every Avenue - Picture Perfect

I'm pretty back from the dead.

Doing a review on my comback.

I've been listening several records in this year 2010.
I can't afford to buy online, so i download some.

I choose Every Avenue's latest album "Picture Perfect" that was released in late 2009
First track "For Always, Forever" is a perfect opening for the entire album. Catchy notes, and good lyric.

Their first single "Tell Me I'm A Wreck" is a pop-punk-typical-single with typical riffs and catchy reffrain.

Slow jams appear on "Happy The Hard Way".

Plain White T's and Yellowcard's members set to feature on few songs, whether it is a collaboration on the song or the music making.

Every Avenue is different than the other pop-punk band.
The drums sounds pretty complex for its genre.

So, I'm on their side.

One day, May 8th 2007, a 6 grader kid-and soon will be 7th grader kid opens a web called deviantART.
He heard this website from his friends, the web that filled with arts attracts him to sign up and create an account. Than he click "Not a member? Become a Deviant!" link. The first box called 'Deviant Name'. His mind spinning, searching for a name. The first goes up to a simple name "Dimas", his nickname, in his mind(maybe) he said 'yeah' then he combine that word that express a state of success. so the name yeahdimas born that day.
Until this second. The name used by a kid, named Dimas, every username, he tried to fill with yeahdimasas time goes by, the name evolve into yeahdimas™.
Now, every single person knows him as yeahdimas™ in the world wide web, so long, and goddbye.

hello fellas! back again to my blog!this time I'm gonna review some records, and this time, all of the artists from this review came from Indonesia, these are the chosen local band, enjoy!

1.DVDBOY - Self-Titled

I heard about this band last week, when i go to Score! Citos to watch Trax FM's event called Terusik Traxkustik, i missed the first opening, sunset groove, pretty good. and the second opening came to the stage, the backdrop written"DVDBOY", then i saw a familiar face and i remember that person is a vocalist from Naif, yeah, David from Naif, and Uncle-Q. the music is electronic pop. the CD isn't that good, less packging, especially in track "Say Say Say" and "Dansa Selingkuh". tracks like "Dirimu (Putih Salju)" was easy-listening. the unwell-packaged CD were covered by their live performance, perfectly insane!. I bought this CD at the event, so i got bonus which is a necklace showing their logo like a geek boy.

2.The Upstairs - Magnet!Magnet!

the second review came from the Modern Darlingsss! yeah, The Upstairs release the second album at Terusik Traxkustik. unbearable, their performance was perfect, neat playing and great stage act make them looks wonderful. Alfie, their bassist didn't use his bass guitar much, he make the bass sound from Alesis Synth. this kind of music is not that easy listening, sometimes we are dizzy if listening to this music. i cannot fully enjoy the whole record, easily get bored and to noisy. the packaging of the CD is wicked cool! there are view paper of the personnel picture and theiir photo together, so it's customizable

3.Monkey To Millionaire - Lantai Merah

here comes the best record in this post, this band came from Jakarta, consist of 3 people. the sound quality of the sound in this record is perfect, for rock and roll and indie. i first attracted by the song "Rulse & Policy" then i started to explore the songs and history of this band. i've wait this record for 5 months since the end of 2008. the producer of this record is Josef Saryuf of Santamonica. i love every tracks in this record, especially 'Fakta dan Citra", "Replika", "Satu Nama", and "Strange Is The Song In Our Converstaion ft. Marsha, one of Trax FM'S radio host". a perfect album to buy, and a must have. the packaging of CD is great with beautiful artworks in it.
